=========================================================================== This directory contains the folowing archives of the perplex programs, data files and documents. =========================================================================== Zip Archive Perp_datafiles.zip: these files must be placed in the same directory/folder as the PERPLEX programs. ver*.dat - thermodynamic data base files. solut.dat - thermodynamic solution model file. epi.ps - postscript file necessary for psvdraw. pro.ps - postscript file necessary for psvdraw. =========================================================================== Zip Archive Perp_pc_progs_I_no_opt.zip: *.exe - the most commonly used perplex programs for Windows/PC's. These versions have been compiled without optimization and should be used in place of the optimized versions (below) on older PC's and/or operating systems (e.g., Win '95, Win '98). =========================================================================== Zip Archive Perp_pc_programs_I.zip: *.exe - the most commonly used perplex programs for Windows/PC's. These are console programs and it is probably easiest to run these from a "command prompt console". =========================================================================== Zip Archive Perp_pc_programs_II.zip: *.exe - less commonly used perplex programs for IBM compatible PC's. =========================================================================== Zip Archive Perp_docs_I.zip: tutorial.pdf - A pdf version of the Perple_X tutorial. vdoc.ps - Perple_X program documentation, note when you print this document the table of contents is printed last. This document is not intended as a tutorial. examples - a directory containing html documentation and examples for Perple_X READMEs - a directory ascii files pertinent to various programs. =========================================================================== Zip Archive Perp_docs_II.zip: sin*.ps - postscript files for a review of phase diagram principles. potenza.ps - a more lucid, but less extensive postscript version of the above review. =========================================================================== Zip Archive Perp_sources.zip (see README_UNIX_USERS.txt): *.f - perplex fortran 77 sources *.f90 - perplex fortran 90 sources perplex_parameters.h - include file that defines array sizes assigned in perplex fortran 77 programs makefile - a crude UNIX makefile to compile fortran sources (possibly SUN specific options). options should be customized for the local environment. sgimakefile - as above, with SGI specific options. =========================================================================== Stuffit Archive Perp_mac_2002.sit (README_MAC_USERS.txt): - perplex applications compiled by Lukas Baumgartner, these require data files that must be copied from Zip archive Perp_datafiles.zip. There is still no Mac Version of the pseudosection program POLYGON, however Mac users can compute pseudosections without POLYGON by selecting the second computational mode in BUILD (i.e., constrained minimization on a grid as in Example 13 at www.perplex.ethz.ch/examples.html). =========================================================================== Other perplex files must be copied from the appropriate source directory as indicated on the perplex home page: http://www.perplex.ethz.ch/perplex.html ===========================================================================
